Welcome to BigDaikon!
Welcome to BigDaikon! BigDaikon is the place for past, present and future
JETs (members of the Japan Exchange and Teaching program) to meet, chat,
discuss issues, share problems and solutions and to relax. It is managed
and operated by ex-JETs (featuring Mochee as your webmaster-san!) with the
goal of providing a community for JETs, ex-JETs and potential JETs across
Japan and around the world.
We are not associated with any other JET related site, we aren't controlled by any government agency and we do not censor the site to put Japan or JET in a postive light like many sites do. We let you tell it like it is (no flames, no personal attacks please). BigDaikon is not here to bash or promote Japan or the JET program. We let you post what you see as a JET, positive or negative, with the hopes that this will contribute to overall improvements in the JET Program.

all the credit ourselves...we share the honor with YOU, our loyal users,
minions and Daikon-denizens!

writes: "BigDaikon is mainly for JET's, but
there are often discussions of various aspects of life in Japan. There's
a lot of good information to be had about Japan's rural areas because
a lot of the visitors are bored teachers stuck out in the boonies with
too much time on their hands. It also has some of the best Japan bashing
rants you'll ever see."
What would we do without our wonderful ranting boonie dwellers!
BLOCKED SITE FAQ
A FAQ is now up on tips for getting around
the blocks schools have set up to stop JETs from accessing favorite sites
on the web, including BigDaikon. Tips were gleaned from posts in discussion.
Thanks to everyone out there for helping to keep information flowing and
free, and giving BigDaikon a vibrant voice in the JET community.
